Marie-Lou Gillespie

Marie-Lou is the Founder and Director of Gillespie and Associates.

Over the last three decades she has built an extensive general practice covering diverse areas of law ranging from general litigation to the drafting of commercial contracts, Family and Insolvency Law to Administrative Law as well as the administration of deceased estates.

Marie-Lou is passionate about law and loves keeping abreast with the constant changes of the various areas in which she practices. There is nothing she enjoys more than being presented with a legal challenge and she will not give up until she finds the appropriate solution.

Marie-Lou serves at the provincial office of the Legal Practice Council for the Western Cape on the Disciplinary Committee and has been appointed to The Arbitration Foundation of South Africa’s panel as a Certified Arbitrator and Mediator in addition to being a Certified Divorce Mediator.

Marie-Lou enjoys the Arts and is the Chairperson of The Third World Bunfight, a non-profit community-based arts company. When she is not in Court or supporting the Arts, Marie-Lou can be found in the mountains where she loves to spend her free time. She is an avid hiker and lover of nature.
